Famed Knuckleballer Phil Niekro Dies

Phil Niekro, the hall of fame pitcher known for his brutal knuckleball, passed away December 27th after a long battle with cancer.

Niekro bested an entire generation of major league hitters with his crafty knuckleball. Known as “Knucksie” by Atlanta Braves fans, Niekro played for 21 years and won 318 games. He was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1997.

According to ESPN, more members of the Baseball Hall of Fame have passed away in 2020 than in any previous year.
